A weathered Annapolis storefront — narrow, low-slung, and tucked between brick neighbors — asked to become a room you wanted to sit in for hours.
The owners brought us a story. A crew of working watermen, a long marble bar, oysters shucked in front of guests, light that softened as the evening went on. The architecture had to disappear into the experience.
We worked in lockstep with the design team for fourteen months. Custom millwork was prototyped on site. A custom oyster ice station was engineered into the bar's leading edge. We held the ceiling open in three different ways before settling on the one that felt right.
The result is a room that does not announce itself. It simply works — for the staff, for the regulars, and for the guest who finds it for the first time on a Tuesday in February.
